Peter and Douglas Elinor and Marlyn

The Blind Summit No Overtaking Blues

 The Sterling Folk Four

Peter, Marlyn, Elinor and Gavin's hobby was singing and playing scottish folk music. They used to perform in pubs and hotel bars and were nice enough to take Douglas with them. This pleased Douglas greatly, as his hobby was getting drunk. Towards the end of his drinking career he could usually be found under a table, pretending to be a helicopter.

In the photos above, we can see Peter and Douglas at a party at Gavin's house. The picture was obviously taken early in the evening as Douglas is still standing up.
The large photo was taken (probably by Gavin) on the morning after a real heavy bevvy in the Palace Hotel, Aberfeldy.

 (See also "bad hair days".)

The other photo shows Elinor and Marlyn on the same morning, both looking as pretty as ever. Guess who had spent the evening under the table.

This next photo was taken shortly before "Black Hawk Down" and shows Douglas attempting to stay upright while playing B on an electric guitar. Marlyn is doing her best to sing a song which was not usually performed with 9 beats to the bar. Elinor is contributing on a set of bass pedals.

Unfortunately, Gavin does not appear himself on the photographs.
But then again, few photographers do.
